GISD will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of a new outdoor pavilion, track, and basketball court located at the Transition Center. Attendees will have the chance to hear from the Transition Center Principal, Assistant Superintendent of Special Education, and GISD’s Superintendent, and tour the newly completed outdoor learning space.
 

This new space will provide students with a dedicated area for various educational and recreational activities. Previously, students were limited to using the parking lot for things like walking and playing basketball. It is important for outdoor educational and recreational activities to take place in a safe, efficient, and distraction-free environment.
 

This event is open to the public and will take place at the back of the Transition Center on July 29, 2024 at 10:30 a.m.
