Description
Peckham, Inc. and the Capital Region Airport Authority have commissioned The Gateway to Inclusion, a visual representation of the greater Lansing area as a diverse and inclusive region that represents and respects all individuals.
This large-scale public installation features artwork created by a diverse group of Peckham clients that signifies the variety of ability and culture found in the Lansing community. Designed and fabricated by artist, Ivan Iler, this innovative, site-specific sculpture creates new opportunities for community engagement, lessens the social stigma experienced by individuals with disabilities, fosters a sense of neighborhood identity, and enhances visitors’ experience of the capital region.
