Description
Travel back to a time when things were a whole lot simpler. Crossroads Village is a Great Lakes town from the turn of the century with 34 historic structures and a thriving community. Enjoy a 40-minute journey on an authentic Baldwin Steam locomotive, the Huckleberry Railroad, take a scenic ride on the Genesee Belle, a replica of the paddlewheel riverboats that were popular during Mark Twain's time, catch a show at the Colwell Opera House or learn a trade from one of the village's craftspeople. Today, enjoy Science Day at the village with family friendly activities to spark an interest in science and technology, including a robotics demonstration from local FIRST Robotics teams as well as hands-on opportunities. The Kettering University-Youth Robotic Engineer Mentor Program, Robotic Teams will showcase their robotic build and guests can learn how to operate, develop new skills and play games. Parkers Propane MI Science Center will have 10 stations of space program activites and the UM-Flint Pop-Up School will be at the village. It is recommended that Huckleberry Railroad train tickets by purchased in advance as the train often sells out.
