Join us Thursday, January 15, 2026, for Lowndes County and the Road to Black Power, the third film in Communities First, Inc.’s 11th Annual African American Film Series. This powerful documentary explores the rise of citizen-led voting rights campaigns in Lowndes County, Alabama—a Black-majority community that became a vital hub for the Civil Rights Movement. Experience this inspiring story at the Flint Institute of Arts, 1120 E. Kearsley St., Flint, MI 48503, with dinner and live music starting at 5:30 PM, the film at 6:45 PM, and a discussion panel to follow. The event is free, with a suggested $5 donation.
